When a user upgrades from Outlook 2007 to Outlook 2010, but not to the whole 2010 Office Suite, Office 2010 will look for Word 2010 to use as its editor. This means the auto correct feature won’t work, nor will the red underline while you type spell check feature.
To do this: Navigate to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\ and copy the Winword.exe file. Then, nagivate to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\ and paste the Winword.exe file into this folder. Simply restart Outlook 2010, and you should be good to go.
