Gerry Ray's Cover Letter
Let me take a few minutes to tell you about myself...
My name is Gerry Ray. My work experiences in life have all been focused on technology. Cover letters are generally specific to the job being applied for, so I will try to encompass all my skills I feel that would be pertinent to my success at any organization.
I studied Information Knowledge Management in college have become a liaison between technology and business. I like to think of myself as a nerd in in businessman's clothing. I can look at a piece of technology, figure out how it works, and determine its impact/value on a given organization.
Out of college, I worked at a bank technology center running mainframe operations. I then started working part time in the afternoons for a startup (OwnLocal) and then moved into a full-time position. Since the company was a startup, and I wore many hats due to its ever-changing environment. I spent a brief time at BHI Media, where I optimized the job enough to where its duties were split off and absorbed by when I left, saving the company money and time.
I worked at Sales Engine International, starting off as a customer success manager, and moved into the role of technical product manager. As with OwnLocal, I wore many hats within the company. I fulfilled my duties as the technical product manager, as well as high level support, sales demos, and many other responsibilities.
I currently work EVERFI, as a Senior Technical Product Manager. I have been working in the e-learning space since 2014 and am very passionate about the work I do and the aspirations the company has. My day-to-day includes gathering requirements and writing stories for our engineering team, to enhance our platform offering to improve the value of the EVERFI offering.
I have programming experience, but I wouldn’t call myself a programmer. I am proficient in HTML, CSS, SEO, and .ASP. I am a Windows fan at heart but am also proficient in Macs and have experience in Linux. I have excellent written and verbal communication skills. I am not currently seeking employment.
Thanks for dropping by,
Gerry Ray
